I believe shooting has 3 key factors

free throw percentage

three point percentage, difficulty and volume of threes

mid range shooting ability and can you pullup as well as volume

Yao for sure beats Lebron free throw wise here’s some percentages.

Lebron career ft%- 73.6

Yao Ming career ft%- 83.3

Yao was definitely practicing these!

mid range- everyone slams lebron because he cant shoot mid ranges like jordan. we also always praise yao for his fadeaways and middies

That is one up to yal

three point- obviously this one is lebron but lets not act like lebron is more than a decent three point shooter

if we consider his entire career, hes decent. hes had points where he was a good shooter, but decent considering his entire career.

3 point shooting does not only have to do with FT%, 3point percentage is way more important for me assuming decent volume. some people are just abnormally good at free throws and plummet below the line. kobe mj and yao all basically have the same FT% (83.3,5,7) percent. they are not in comparable tiers of shooters. harden shoots better ft% than klay over his career, and although harden is an elite shooter on his own right, nobody would say he’s a better shooter than klay
