The head referee tonight will be one Ademir Zurapović, one of best and oldest referees hailing from Bosnia, born in 1972.

The coach of the Serbian side is Svetislav Pešić who spent the 1970s as a player in Bosnia, and then the 1980s as a coach.

He was part of the famous KK Bosna side, led by the Bosnian Yugoslav legend Mirza Delibašić that won the Yugoslav title in 1978, and the Euroleague in 1979.

He (Pešić) then coached the club for five seasons in the 1980s, winning the Yugoslav title in 1983, and reaching 4th place in Euroleague the next season.

Ademir Zurapović growing up as a teenage basketball fan in Bosnia during the Yugoslav era would have counted Pešić among his heroes. As the Serbian Pippen to the legendary Delibašić, the latter who hails from the very same town (Tuzla) that Zurapović is from.

I do not fear for Serbia’s whistle this evening!
