The prevailing trend is that the best NBA talent usually hail from large cities or large suburbs and nowadays rarely play basketball at public schools at all, usually some private predatory school (i.e Oak Hill Academy).

Doing some research and Eastern NC seems to be an NBA talent hot spot. It’s pretty rural and impoverished, having no large cities. Bam Adebayo, Kent Bazemore, Reggie Bullock, Brandon Ingram, Montrezl Harrell are the most recent NBA players from this area and all from towns within an hour drive of each other.

Is there some kind of hyper charged basketball development program in this area, given the number of NBA players relative to its size?
