The 2017 Warriors were 67-15 in the regular season and went 16-1 in the playoffs. They were clearly one of the most dominant teams of all time.

On the other hand, the 2018 Warriors didn’t even finish with the 1st seed in the West, won 58 games, yet still were taken to 7 games by the Houston Rockets. That Houston team was very good, but the Warriors were supposed to be unstoppable after the KD acquisition. They could have very well been beaten if they weren’t lucky with CP3’s injuries and the Rockets missing 27 threes in a row in game 7.

Then, in 2019, the Warriors won 57 games and were taken to 6 games by a Clippers team with no real star and also 6 games by the aging Rockets. They did clean up their play in the Conference Finals with a sweep over the Blazers though without KD. They get a pass for not winning the ring due to injuries in the Finals.

Why did they drop off so much in just 1 year?
