Say some random rich guy announces on Twitter he will pay an NBA player the same amount of money a max contract would make if they sign to their team for the vet minimum, hire them as a “brand ambassador” or some bullshit and just pay them whatever they want for 4 years. And say the guy has no affiliation to the nba whatsoever.

Is there anything that could stop this from happening? This would be a crazy way to circumvent the cap lol.
