    All the big athletes are and have been staying outside of the village. lol

    Also, its $15 million for the entire USA Basketball program. This includes women’s and 3x3s. There was a tiktok of one of the 3x3 players and they talked about being in the same hotel as LeBron.

    Can’t blame them at all. Shitty cardboard beds, no AC, questionable food. These guys are top of the world in basketball so they need their rest and healthy meals. If I was the face of the NBA and collectively worth about $1B I’d definitely expect the organization to shell out for private quarters.

    I was thinking about this the other day. Tennis, Basketball and Golf were all sports where I assumed the athletes competing will have their own money to stay in n a nice Parisian hotel, rather than the dorm-style athlete village.

    The basketball players are the wealthiest players at the game. Only a couple tennis’s and golf players make close to eat what the nba players make. It also a security issue.

    Team USA always stays outside of the Olympic village.

    I’ve read it’s a security issue, but that was way back in 2008. Now I think it’s because the Olympic village sucks.

    This is also how a lot of bonding happens between the men’s and women’s teams. Probably the funniest one was Kobe Bryant and Geno Auriemma.
