Historically, an Olympic Team USA that’s unique in some way gets a nickname so we can talk about it in later years without getting confused, rather than saying, “The (year) Team USA.” The amount of stars on this roster makes it seem like we will talk about it for a while, so what will we call this one?
1992 - Dream Team: First USA team with active NBA players.
2008 - Redeem Team: Followed USA’s first Olympic loss since NBA players have participated.
2024 - ?? : Maybe the most star-packed roster since the Dream Team.
There was this thread from last year, but nothing stuck, and one of the only real top suggestions was “LeVengers”, but as we know that just translates to “The Avengers” in French, and would be confusing to French speakers including LéBron.
For me the name needs to rhyme with the others, so I’m voting for The Supreme Team.
