I’m sure this is a pretty common sentiment amongst players but Melo has to know people see him as someone who didn’t live up to his potential as a player, in part because of his refusal to compromise or take a pay cut or not be the focal point of the offense

Brunson could potentially lose out on $113m for a team that won’t sniff a championship. One of the dumbest risks I’ve seen a pro take

that’s the funniest part to me lol. I respect the willingness and sacrifice but it’s not like he’s taking a pay cut for the 2017 warriors. it’s also hilarious to see this sub acting as if Melo is wrong for saying he wouldn’t do that. Majority of us here wouldn’t turn down a $10 raise at work, let alone $100M+ over 4 years. Like enough of the virtue signaling

“I don’t know the logic behind the reason”

The money ain’t the #1 Priority. I’m not going to act like I know Jalen, but he seems to have his head on his shoulders and is prioritizing family and winning with his boys. I wasn’t surprised to learn he married his HS sweetheart, the money and the fame seems secondary to him.

I loved the Melo Knicks era but let’s not forget he actively hampered the team by pushing for a midseason trade instead of signing on as a FA

Melo knicks era. Peak was second round. That’s not an era

Trae Young has done more for the Hawks.

Y’all are fucking insane, I guarantee you under 1% of people here would turn down a 50% raise so that your company could hire other people

Melo deserved every dollar that was paid to him. Honestly, happy for him. I agree with him, taking pay cuts are wild.

But, I thought money wasnt a problem to you?

Imagine me at 23-24 yrs old being the 4th option on the team. When I’m leading my team every single year… and you want me to leave that to be a 4th option. It didn’t have anything to do with money.

99% of the NBA past and present wouldn’t have taken a pay cut like Brunson
