Or Kyrie would have been pulled and sat on the bench because a majority of his ball moves would be carrying

But you have to acknowledge evolution. Kyrie built upon the groundwork laid before him just like Jordan benefitted from the palyers before him. That’s why you can’t compare generations.

The first player to dribble between their legs created something that every other palyer since has benefitted from. So even though we look back and it seems unimpressive its actually extremely impressive when you look at the moves it has spawned.

I know you didnt claim anything contradictory but it just made me think.

In all honesty, it does look kinda slick via replay.

That being said, plays like this illustrate the beauty of innovation and how the game evolves over time because of it. I know there’s a certain group who’d use this type of clip to criticize one era while lifting up the present, but the present largely exists as it does because of plays like this. Somebody had to cross that threshold and show the way.

Those same critics may not even realize that the current era will be no different. Those who broke the mold this era will be endlessly copied and emulated until future generations look back at our bewilderment over certain plays from the '10s and wonder why we all treated them as being so spectacular.

Curry range 3s are gonna be taken by 7’10 guards. They gonna look at clips of Wemby and say “We done with the 2020s”

People say this but Steph was drafted in 2009. That was 15 years ago. No younger player has even come close since. When is the evolution going to start?

Stuff like this is why it’s difficult today to judge MJ’s impact on basketball via youtube. What he did then feels normal today, but back in the 80s/90s, it was out of this world.

In that same light, it’s pointless to say “so he isn’t as great because he didn’t face today’s competition” when he himself played such a significant role in today’s competition being as good as it is. The era after him, the Lebron’s, Wade’s, Melo’s, Kobe’s, Iverson’s etc. all grew up watching and imitating him.

Can we acknowledge the comical defense by Harper literally jumping in the passing lane to give him an easy cut to the basket?

If Jordan goes right hand to right hand : Omg We have never seen that 😲😲😲, Goat!

If Jaylen Brown goes right hand to right hand : Omg , overpaid. He has no left, what a disgrace. Even I can dribble better , what a bum.
