With the Olympics about to start in a few days, which NBA players whether star or role players transform into different players during FIBA/International play?
Some names that come to mind who thrive are Schroder, Patty Mills, Carmelo Anthony, KD, and Gobert.
While those who struggle can be Austin Reaves, Brunson, Brandon Ingram, JJJ, Lillard, Lavine.
Feel free to discuss players who fit these criteria.
Struggle: Like literally every American other than KD, relative to their NBA performance
Saw Mirza Teletovic absolutely dismantle Great Britain when he was playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina while he was an end of rotation guy for the Nets. Guy looked like the best basketball player I’d ever seen in person (have seen Kobe/LeBron/KD/Giannis play) but it was his role and relative skill-level to the opposition.
Alot of these guys struggle but if they were the main or second guy it would look. different. Too many alphas
Gobert thrives?
Sabonis somehow seems to play like a Lithuanian role player whenever he plays for Lithuania. Every Lithuanian player would take turn to carry the team, except him, who’s a NBA AllStar.
Pistons legend Brandon Knight thrive in Puerto Rico
Bogdan Bogdanović is great every time he plays for us
I think players like Prime KD and Prime Carmelo are better in Fiba than Nba for some reason.
They are great in Nba. They are almost unguardable in Fiba.
