This is partly for fun but also a concept that should be developed into something or perhaps already has? Idk. Without further ado(-nal foyle)
Good Things Per Game Metric
Refreshingly simple you add up all the Points Rebounds Assists Blocks Steals a player has per game, subtract the Fouls and Turnovers then put it in context of minutes.
So for Bronny James Sr. in his career so far:
40,474 points
11,185 rebs
11,009 assists
2,275 steals
1,111 blocks
= 66, 045 good things total
In 1,492 (fuck c*lumbus) games
44 good things per game
(Ofc you’d just use per game averages but just breaking it down thusly, to illustrate better)
And if you subtract the negatives it’s like 40 roughly
Jordan was 45 good things minus 5 bad things so… drumroll
By this delightfully simple metric
Bronny James Sr. And MJ
are equally good
While for contrast the human victory cigar was 23 good things per 36 minutes and 7 bad things so he was 16 good things per game
So yeah this should definitely be developed into something more substantial
Nice useful thing

Congratulations, you have invented advanced stats. (See game score and player efficiency rating, both created by John Hollinger)
