Hey guys, I’m an European who’s a fan of football (soccer for many of you I guess) but I’m also a big fan and have been following the NBA since 2013. How would you feel if the NBA implemented penalty shootouts like we do in soccer? So basically what would happen is when a game reaches the end of regular time, instead of an OT, each team would shoot 5 FT ( each player takes one, the order in which they take them is up to the team) and the team that scores more out of those 5 attempts wins obviously. Would it make it more or less exciting?
soccer should just remove one player from either team every five minutes until someone scores
Let soccer be soccer and basketball be basketball. We don’t have to blend the two sports.

id say if it goes OT do 3 on 3 half court first to 15 pts
because usually in the later minutes of the fourth and OT its always the main 3 players that get the ball anyways.
this will just give them more space to work and have the intensity go up

The only reason it exists in football is because coin flip seems a little absurd and having players play longer than 120 minutes is just asking for everyone to get injured.
But it is a bad way to decide a football match as it really has little to do with the actual game
