I wanted to comment on YouTube but realized they wouldn’t get it.

If you pay attention to the cuts and what the GG is saying it relates in a way to each sport that is shown. It’s a loose way of defining all champions but also specific with the words spoken to the sport shown on screen, (ex. “I have an obsession with power” showing deadlift) and more examples. Brilliant commercial that brings you in the mind of these actual crazy people who want to be the best at what they do. At that level if you don’t think you’re the best then you won’t be the best

Holy crap, this ad is horrible— no empathy, respect, remorse or compassion, obsessive with power, irrational, selfish. Yes you’re a bad person. Congratulations you’ve labeled every dedicated athlete a clinical psychopath.

(And yes I get the Green Goblin “genius” buuuuut, this was not it)

No they don’t. The title is literally “winning isn’t for everyone”. You people are mush. This is a mindset that many athletes get into in order to drive them to be the greatest. This doesn’t necessarily mean rack up techs and get put on the bench. It just means play as hard as you can, and intend to crush competition with your prowess. Aim for a blow-out every game. Does Curry need to hit 15 3s in a game? Does John Stockton need to inflict turnovers constantly? No, but that brings his team to a W. This ad speaks to the natural parts of us that we constantly push down to meld in “nice” society". Don’t forget where you came from.
