There’s a lot of talk about where the NBA will be expanding. But should it be expanding it at all? The league has teams like the Pistons, Wizards, and Hornets that have been short on talent for years. It’s no secret that the EC in general, except for a few select teams, has been struggling compared to the WC for the better part of the past twenty years. Adding more teams will only strain the talent pool even more.

I understand that the league wants to cater to a wider range of cities, but then why are NYC and LA allowed to have two teams? The Clippers (who aren’t even supposed to be in LA) and the Nets should be compelled to relocate (since the Lakers and Knicks are by far the more popular teams in their respective cities, and claimed them first) if the NBA really wants to expand its presence.

Or maybe the NBA should have two extra-seasonal sudden death games to determine who gets to stay in NYC and LA. Lakers vs. Clippers: loser leaves LA / Knicks vs. Nets: loser leaves NYC. That would be interesting, if a little WWE-ish.

They shouldn’t but they don’t care about integrity. NBA just want to bring in two more billionaires to the fold. MLB expanding would be even worse since 75% of the league doesn’t care about winning. They really need to have two leagues, and do a relegation/promotion thing when it gets to 36 to 40 teams.
