I mean it’s so common in the NBA for this to happen nowadays even those that signed a multi-year max contract. Why are players so entitled to be traded even though they are paid? Did you see Ohtani demand a trade when he was with the Angels? Or Judge? Or Trout? Or Soto with the Nats?
Seriously. Why do so many NBA superstars threaten to demand getting traded?
Can’t really compare baseball and basketball. But, I will agree, players are too impatient these days. If you jump teams after only one or two tough seasons you rob yourself of a chance to win with that team. It just takes more time to build something good around your star. If the star demands a trade after 2 years then that project is never gonne get finished. Resulting in 1 of 2 scenarios: star gets traded to super team or star gets traded to improving team and leaves again (probably the season before they’re ready to compete for the title).
