I’m afraid those days are long gone with how the world has progressed and how much more international teams gel with each other due consistent rosters and engagement year in and year out.

I do agree that if the US had more engagement defensively and on the glass these games would not be close like they are. That being said every time a team plays the US they are going to play harder than they would against any other team. Just comes with being universally viewed as the best team in the world.
