Or possibly link a good article explaining it. We’ve all heard about the new cba and how much it’s already affected teams this off-season. I specifically am interested in seeing how much money teams will have to pay for going over the first or second apron. Also how going over say the second apron would affect flexibility. Would going over the second apron cause a team to only be able to sign minimum players that off-season?

    Under the second apron:

    • You can’t sign a bought-out player

    • You can’t take back more salary than you send out in a trade - You can’t use trade exceptions

    • You can’t use your MLE (minimums only)

    • You can’t send out cash in a trade (no cash considerations)

    • You can’t trade multiple players in the same deal

    • Your first round pick 7 years out will be frozen (untradeable) until you finish a season out of the second apron

    • If you are in the second apron in 2/4 years your first round draft pick 7 years out will automatically be moved to the end of the round
