Denver Roster

Position 24/25 23/24
PG Jamal/Westbrook/Pickett Jamal/Reggie/Gillespie
SG Braun/Strawther/Trey-Alexander KCP/Braun/Holiday
SF MPJ/Watson/Tyson MPJ/Watson/Strawther
PF A.Gordon/Cancar/Zeke Gordon/Zeke/Cancar
C Jokic/Saric/DJ Jokic/DJ
  • While I think losing KCP will hurt Denver offensively, CB is just as impactful on defense for the most part and offers more versatility in guarding bigger guards. Although, screen navigation will suffer.
  • Reggie played all 82 games last season and was very poor at running the bench offense, getting Russ is a highly variable deal. It will allow Denver’s bench to play faster which had no identity.
  • Strawther looked excellent in the summer league, scoring 30ppg on elite efficiency, the idea is that he takes a leap this season.
  • Peyton Watson might improve further and offer an additional boost.
  • The biggest boosts this season will be at backup PF and backup C, Vlatko whenever healthy, has looked like a good rotation piece and Saric is a massive upgrade of DJ.

The main reason I made this post is to get some thoughts from neutral fans, do you think it’s a better or worse roster?

Main problem I see is bench defense. Championship year they rolled with Brown, Braun and Green off the bench, all defensively solid. This year it will be Westbrook, Watson/Strawther and Saric, so 2 of the 3 will be subpar defenders.
