I was wondering, because I gave it some thought, and brook lopez and Marc gasol are good defenders and good rim protectors even tho they aren’t super athletic. In fact, they have similar athletic profiles to jokic( slow, not very bouncy) and they have similar size as well( Jokic: 6’11 height, 7’3 wingspan/ Brook lopez: 7’1 height, 7’6 wingspan/ Marc gasol: 6’11 height, 7’4 wingspan).Brook also struggled earlier in his career on defense and managed to become an elite one later in his career. Jokic is also very intelligent on the court like Marc and Brook, so it can’t be an IQ think. Is it just effort?
