They did it last year. I get it, they have to give some commemorative thing. They can’t do rings since that’s reserved for the Champions. But I don’t like the medals. I think it should be reserved for the Olympics or the World Cup.

What I would suggest though, is they give out…cups.

Literal cups. Like the gold cups used by priests. I know they give out a trophy for the winning team, like a Stanley Cup, but they make a new one each year instead of just passing it on.

But the idea is they give the David Stern Cup to the winning team; while each player receives a gold cup as the commemorative thing.

Why?

For one, they keep calling it Cup Games, Cup Night, etc. but where’s the cup. Or is it all cap.

Second and most important reason, so winner can do the 🐸 ☕ pose with the gold cup, just like this. Would be badder if, say, someone like LeBron James does it with rings on his fingers, whilst sipping wine.

Yes, a chalice. I like it. And it overlaps with NBA player’s obsession with wine. They could transubstantiate it into the blood of Nasmith and drink out of their IST chalice on podcasts.
