Let’s rewind to London Olympics closing ceremony 8 years ago where not only every athlete was celebrated in one arena along with officials, but the entertainers and those honoring the olympians’ life long efforts, sacrifices, victories, and joy were also there. So many London based performers put on an amazing celebration show including some of the greats; however, the one vision and unbelievable memory that stuck in my head all these years was Oasis performing “Wonderwall.” As athletes sang along, they swayed side to side, arms interlocked, lights twinkled as pictures and selfies were taken, and tears ran down athletes’ faces in sheer joy of the moment! THAT ELEMENT IS WHAT WE MISSED this year!

I did come up with a few theories after I listened to the president of France speak on tv. I suspect that what we watched in closing ceremonies isn’t what the intended plan was from the start (maybe others are aware of what security issues occurred). On TT it was stated that Taylor Swift had to cancel multiple concert abroad due to a terror plot of some sort. I wonder were these things connected at all. Thank goodness everyone is safe but is this why the closing ceremony may have been changed last minute or was that whole LA set up with performers a back up plan from the start? I wonder since the Olympics are planned out many years in advance, did Billie Eilish theme this latest HMHAS album or write some songs with these 2024 Olympic Games in mind? One song on her latest album has a French title, another with a French sound, and another song titled “The Greatest?” I mean she was already committing back in 2019/2020 to perform at the LA OLYMPICS in 2028. There is a video out there of her talking about it and I’m already looking forward to that performance.

I just really hope the next Olympics will be better prepared for and the olympians given their proper time to shine in glory, relax, and enjoy a once in a lifetime moment of celebration for their hard work and dedication post the moment of competition and chaos💙💜💙
